While the app does offer the ability to record HD video up to 1080p, you can record in different resolutions as well, so if you for instance want to send the video to someone or upload it to share, you can get it done easier with a smaller video file due to the lower resolution. iSupr8 Vintage offers other things like film burn and framing options as well as a customizable film stock to really give your Super 8 videos as unique of a style as you possibly can. You can record all brand new video or import them from the camera roll and apply the Super 8 processing to an old favorite. ZTE Is All Set For A Big March 25th Announcement With The Nubia X6

While HTC has been dealing with leaks about their upcoming new device, ZTE has been throwing out teasers for its upcoming Nubia X6 smartphone. One thing these two OEMs have in common though is that they both seemed to have set a date for a special event coming up. We know that HTC is set to announce their new flagship device on March 25th, The All New One. In a weird but logical way it seems that ZTE might be determined to steal some of that limelight, as they have set March 25th for the date of their Nubia X6 announcement. We might see this as a little like riding on the coattails of HTC because let’s face it, their announcement date has been big news for more than a month now. However it’s not such a bad idea from ZTE as most people that are aware of the HTC announcement date will undoubtedly pay a little attention to what ZTE has to show off during the same day. People’s focus will already be set to new wireless mobile tech, so why not piggy back off that.

We do have to wonder about what ZTE will have to say during their announcement on March 25th. Will they show us the full specs of the device? Will we get to see much of it at all, and will they show off anything to go with it or just the phone? Although the dates are the same for both ZTE and their Taiwanese neighbor HTC surrounding new phone launches, HTC’s announcements are set on a more massive scale, while ZTE will only be making their announcement in Beijing, China. Since their device is likely going to be for the Chinese market only, it isn’t very likely that they will be trying to attract too much attention from those that will be watching HTC’s big announcement the same day. The Nubia X6 is said to support a wide variety of networks, including CDMA, GSM, and LTE. It’s also been teased to have a fairly long battery life, and come with an OIS camera sensor for excellent photos. It may have a 6-inch display and come packing a Snapdragon 801, and if some of these rumors turn out to be true it doesn’t sound like it’ll be a half bad device.

Rumor: The Nexus 8 Tablet From Google To Come With An 8.9-Inch Display

More information has surfaced supporting the rumors that Google will be releasing an 8-inch tablet this year instead of choosing to go forward with another Nexus 7 like we’ve been used to since 2012. We have heard rumors about Google launching a Nexus 8 tablet before, and there have even been rumors stating that ASUS could be the one developing the device like they did the last two Nexus 7 tablets. Rumors also suggest that we could see an Intel chip inside instead of the familiar Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset that we’re used to seeing.

Digitimes research is reporting that Google has made the decision to replace the Nexus 7, and swap it out by replacing it with an 8.9-inch Nexus 8 for this years new Nexus tablet offering. It’s said that the Nexus 8 will be Google’s first tablet project for the year, which points to the possibility that they could be looking to release another tablet in a different size. This could end up potentially being the new Nexus 10 that everyone has been speculating on for quite some time now. 8-inch screens on tablets (or in this particular case 8.9-inch screens) for many serve as a nice bridge between tablet sizes that are too small for their liking, and ones that are slightly too big for them to not consider something like a smaller laptop with similar size and weight. If Google does release a Nexus 8 this year with the screen size mentioned, it will arguably still be ultra portable compared to larger tablets like the Galaxy Note or the new Galaxy Note Pro with a 12.2-inch screen, but still give a larger and more enjoyable sized display to consumers to do things like browse the web, read emails, play games, and watch videos. Digitimes is estimating that the Nexus 8 will help prompt other OEMs to follow suit in the larger tablet space, where tablets with bigger displays only make up 30% of the entire tablet marketshare for devices shipped.

The Nexus 8 as it’s currently being referred to could also serve as tablet to replace the Nexus 10 instead of the Nexus 7 like most of us have been thinking, and the Nexus 7 could yet get another revival with a complete overhaul. Although the Nexus 8 is now rumored to be coming with an 8.9-inch display instead of an 8-inch, it should still end up with an extremely competitive and affordable cost compared to similar products in the market. This would make sense, since most every nexus product ever offered has been affordable.

Reports Suggesting Tablets With 12-Inch Displays Are Being Met With Challenges In Development

Larger tablets are revered by some but are just too much screen size for others. For a while we’ve known nothing more than 7, 8, 9, and 1o-inch tablets that deliver needs and cater individually to person seeking the right tablet for them. Just this year though Samsung unveiled at CES its plans to release a line of new Pro series tablets, of which included a larger sized tablet with a 12.2-inch display. Apple also has a 12+ inch tablet in the works according to industry rumors, and ASUS has been working on its Dual-Booting 13-inch tablet that was to run both Android and Windows 8. At least the tablet from ASUS might never see the light of day due to Google’s hesitation to have a tablet on the market that could allow such close access to the Android space for a Windows based product. Google has no intentions it seems of letting Microsoft gain any ground where Android already dominates the market, but the ASUS TD300 is still alive at this point, just in a delayed state.

Among the complications and challenges seen by ASUS, Samsung has a set of challenges to face all its own with the Note Pro 12.2. Since this tablet is marketed towards Business professionals that will have the need for some fairly powerful computing processes and access to equally powerful applications or programs, Samsung has a need to fulfill with giving those customers an equal experience to that of a laptop. The hard part for Samsung will be to match that type of computing power with processes and programs as a whole that a regular laptop PC could deliver, but at the cost of what the tablets are going for some or most customers might find it better to utilize a more traditional type of PC experience for business purposes. These tablets will no doubt be able to provide some users with all that they may need to do their work, but for many the enterprise apps may not be able to compete against full fledged PC programs that do the same or similar job, especially when you factor in the that some laptops are equal to or less than what the tablets will cost the consumer.

Wikipad Gives Their Gaming Tablet A Price Cut Down To $199

Gamers rejoice! Wikipad has just announced that they’re lowering the price of their Android tablet/game controller combo down to $199. Normally the price for this has been $249.99, so it looks like they wanted to give consumers a nice little savings. To be honest, that’s not half bad considering what you get. At the original cost it would have been more advantageous to just go with the Nvidia Shield in my honest opinion, but now that the price has dropped by $50, the wikipad gaming tablet is looking quite a bit better. You can grab one of these for just $199 if you live inside the U.S., but we’re sorry to say that the price cut is limited to the United States at the moment. The good news is that Wikipad has stated that price discounts for the device in other regions will be announced at a later date. Hopefully that doesn’t mean too much later for those of you outside the U.S.

The Wikipad gaming tablet can be used for all kinds of gaming needs. If you wanted a dedicated gaming experience on the go with a physical controller setup, this is a pretty good solution next to pairing a MOGA with your phone instead. The Wikipad comes with a couple games installed on it, so you can play right out of the box if you wish. We understand the need, no judgement here. The games that come pre-loaded are not just any games, they’re both a couple of the greatest titles out there on mobile currently. Extremely fun, and action packed. We think it’s also worth mentioning that this isn’t just a gaming device, the Wikipad is a full 7-inch tablet that can be detached from the gamepad portion. It runs Android Jelly Bean 4.2, and it’ll work just like any other tablet out there. So that means you can utilize whatever apps you wish. So long as the app is supported of course. Motorola Had Visions For A Much Grander Device, But Google Wouldn’t Give Them The Resources

With all the love and success of fans for the Moto X, some still found or thought it to be lacking in more ways than one. It seems that this was due more to Google’s (or rather Larry Page’s) lack of wanting to provide Motorola with more support to make Motorola’s visions and goals of a truly Googley phone worthy of the Google Phone moniker. Motorola reportedly asked for funds and other assistance like technology to better the form of what came to be the Moto X, and while Motorola certainly did a great job at putting out something fantastic all on their own, just think about what it could have been if the things that Motorola wanted or needed were at their disposal.

According to The Information, Larry Page was weary of upsetting or alienating other OEMs and large partners like Samsung, if they were to provide technological advancements to better the fruits of Motorola’s labor. Because of this fear it’s said that Larry Page had turned Motorola down for what it was asking. Motorola was seemingly prohibited from working directly with the Android team members, but it was OK’d to work with and collaborate on a level with YouTube. If Motorola was able to fulfill their vision for a smartphone that had their phenomenal hardware and attention to detail for design and things like great battery life, with Google’s cloud based computing services, infinite resources and general Google flare, the Moto X could have turned out to be something that would have had a chance to compete with Samsung and Apple. Perhaps something more of a behemoth contender, but now we’ll never know.

One example of what Motorola had wanted to implement was a much more elaborate and powerful version of the touchless controls that they put inside the Moto X. The idea was to take the voice controlled commands and make it so the the phone they wanted to build could do much more than just understand a simple hot word. The touchless controls and OK Google wake command for the device are certainly useful in their own right, but there’s no doubt that with Google’s help it could have been ten times better and become something truly great that would be talked about for years. Some may have already seen this coming when Google had announced that it would be buying up Motorola and all of its patents, assuming that it was all just a means to end to gain a larger patent portfolio. It would seem that is exactly what Google wanted to do. Hopefully under Lenovo’s new leadership, Motorola can begin to deliver something more close to the vision it had in the beginning.
