HTC One (M8) Supports Quick Charge 2.0, However the Charger Does Not

HTC NEW One 3.1 AH

Another brilliant move from HTC. While the Snapdragon 801 uses Quick Charge 2.0 to charge your HTC One – or any other device with that chip or the Snapdragon 800 – pretty quickly. It appears HTC made an oopsy. As HTC bundled in a 1.5A charger with the HTC One can only charge with Quick Charge 1.0. Which obviously isn’t the best, but it is still faster than not having Quick Charge. It’ll still be faster than charging the HTC One M7 or even the Samsung Galaxy S4 since both launched before Qualcomm announced Quick Charge last year.

According to HTC, they will be releasing a 1.67A charger later this year which does support Quick Charge 2.0. So you’ll want to keep that in mind, if you’re looking to grab the new HTC One from Verizon, or next month when it hits hundreds more carriers. It’s not a huge deal to not have Quick Charge 2.0, but its still a nice thing to have, especially since it’ll charge up lightening quick.

The HTC One M8 features a 2600mAh battery, so it shouldn’t take too long to charge your phone up anyways. The HTC One also has a 5-inch 1080p SuperLCD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of internal storage along with a 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera and a 2-megapixel camera on the back with a 5-megapixel camera on the front. It’s also running Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Sense 6. It’s a great looking, and feeling device. I just wish the camera was a bit better this year. However, I’ll leave out judgement until we post our full review.

How many of you are looking to grab the HTC One M8 when it becomes available on your particular carrier? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
