HP Launches Chromebook 11 for $279 Powered by Exynos - Comes with Free 100GB of Google Drive and 60-day Free Trial of Google Play Music All Access
Here we are with another Chromebook. This is in addition to the 4 Chrome devices announced by Intel a few weeks ago that will be running on their Haswell chips. The new HP Chromebook 11 was announced this morning, and is available immediately for $279 from Google Play and HP. It's also available from Amazon and Best Buy. It's a 2.3-pound device that's powered by Samsung's Exynos processor, which you normally see in phones and tablets.
The outside is primarily plastic, with a magnesium frame and rigidity and to keep the weight low. There is 2GB of RAM inside along with 16GB of flash storage. There's also two micro USB ports and a slimport for Video out. There's an 11.6-inch display which is a 1366x768 resolution, along with viewing angles of 176-degrees.
The new HP Chromebook 11 also has speakers hidden under the keyboard, like Google's own Chromebook Pixel. Which means they are probably going to be really great speakers. I loved the speakers on the Chromebook Pixel. Those that buy the Chromebook 11 from HP will also get 100GB of Drive space for free for two years, and you'll also get a 60-day free-trial of Google Play Music All Access. Sounds like a pretty good deal too me.
