Now that the All New HTC One has been announced, we’ll start seeing price drops for the original 2013 HTC One. It appears as though this price drop also extends to the Google Play Edition of the device, as well. Now that Google Play has updated their devices page on the Play Store, we’re seeing a $100 price drop for the original HTC One (2013).

Originally, the HTC One (2013) was $599, however, with the release of the All New HTC One, it has dropped to $499. Good guy Google is also offering free ground shipping, as well. The device is available now and it leaves the warehouse within 1-2 business days. If you were looking for an excuse to pick up the original HTC One, now would be your chance. This device is carrier unlocked and it offers a slew of useful features. You get HTC’s BoomSound, the UltraPixel camera that’s good for capturing excellent photos in low light environments, and the aluminum build. Another awesome thing about this device is that you don’t have to worry about a carrier skin, since the Google Play Edition is bathed in stock Android. So if you don’t like Sense, then have no fear, you don’t have to deal with it on this version.

The HTC One (2013) is a great phone, and the hardware features make it even better. You will miss out on some of the software features with this device because it’s a Google Play Edition, but you’re still getting good hardware for a pretty decent price. Internally, you’re getting a Snapdragon 600 processor, 32 GB of internal storage and 2 GB of RAM. You also get a 4.7-inch screen, a 2.1-megapixel front facing camera and that UltraPixel rear facing camera that we discussed before.

If the HTC One (2013) Google Play Edition is not for you, Google has also listed the All New HTC One (or the HTC One M8) on the Play Store as “coming soon”, so you’ll have to wait a bit to get your hands on that. Are you going to be grabbing the Google Play Edition of the HTC One (2013) at this new price, or are you waiting on the new HTC One (M8)?
