So yesterday we told you guys about the leaked update schedule for the HTC Software UI Sense 6, and when that update would be heading to older HTC devices. It was no surprise that the original HTC One would be getting the software update before any other device on the list, that was a given, but now that the new One M8 is official so is the update to Sense 6 for the One, as it’s no longer just a leak. The device will get the update to Sense 6.0, but there is some bad news that comes along with the good news, it may end up losing some of Sense 6′s features in the journey back in time to an older device. According to the leaked update schedule, the update to Sense 6.0 should be headed to your old HTC One phone sometime between May and June. That’s only a couple of months away at most, so definitely get ready to see the update soon, before summer most likely.

According to Tech Radar who is on the ground floor at one of the live events, a spokesperson from HTC told them that the update to Sense 6 would be coming to the 2013 HTC One Family, and that we should stay tuned for any details in the coming months about the software upgrade. That’s a pretty vague statement but at least there’s the confirmation from someone at HTC. So, now we know that things are officially official, lets go over the probability of the older HTC One getting all the new features of Sense 6, or whether some will be left behind to the new device only.

You can bet that the updated Blink Feed will be making its way to the older One, as it already has Blink Feed in the first place. Any of the update UI improvements like the cleaner style and the updated look to the status bar will probably come along for the ride as well. What we’re not so sure about, is if the original One will get the Motion Sense features, which basically lets you tap the new One M8 from the sleeping lock screen with a double tap to wake up, and a double tap to put to sleep. Utilizing this feature, you can bypass the power button altogether. At this time we don’t know if this is something that is hardware related to the new One or if its simply something that has to do with the new software, but as more details come out we’ll be sure to update you.
