Much like the Fire TV, Amazon’s own smartphone has been leaking out and rumored for a few years now. And whenever the company is asked about it, they deny that they are working on a phone. Now that their set-top box is out there and in the wild, it’s time to focus on the rumors of their smartphone. Which the guys at BGR have gotten their hands on some exclusive photos of the smartphone and have shared them with us, along with some specs of the device.

It appears that Amazon’s smartphone has a 4.7-inch display, but will be a bit smaller than HTC’s and Samsung’s current flagship offerings. It’s also said that it’ll be sporting a 720p display instead of a 1080p or even the QHD we’re seeing on a few phones like the OPPO Find 7. We’re also looking at some 3D stuff. Yes 3D is back, thanks to Amazon. There was talk of all kinds of 3D effects and features on the Amazon smartphone, but at this point, all we are seeing are 3D effects with the camera. Speaking of the camera, we’re looking at a 13-megapixel shooter here. Which puts it on par with the LG G2, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and a few other flagships. BGR’s sources are also telling them that there are four cameras on the front of the phone, one in each corner, which helps with the gestures, as expected.

It’s definitely an interesting device, and probably a prototype as those bezels look pretty large, and it appears to be in a case, that most OEMs use to give their upcoming phone to testers so that it doesn’t leak out like the HTC One (M8) did. One more piece of information to note here, BGR’s sources told them that the smartphone is going to launch in the US only – which sucks for everyone outside the US and Amazon – as well as coming late Summer. So likely an August announcement/launch.
