Leef Access Brings a MicroSD Card to Any Android Phone for under $15

via AndroidHeadlines.com |

I’ve heard time and time again that many people won’t buy a certain phone because it doesn’t have a microSD card slot for expandable storage. Now while I don’t see the issue there, or need one for my own devices, that doesn’t mean that those that want a microSD card slot are wrong. It seems like lately more and more manufacturers are bringing the microSD card slot back. The new HTC One has a microSD card slot, which did surprise a lot of us, but it is here.

For those with a device, like a Nexus 5, Moto X, LG G2, or something similar, there is a solution to not having a microSD card slot. And Leef Access has made that solution for us. Using the microUSB port on your device, it is a microSD card adapter for your phone. So you just plug in this little adapter to your smartphone, and then put in your microSD card and voila you’ve got expandable storage on your device. Now it’s not the best solution, but it does work. And it works a bit better than the USB OTG that so many people swear by. It’s a really nice microSD card reader that works with just about any device that has a micro USB port. Even Windows Phone.

We’ll have to get our hands on one and review it and see whats up with it, but so far it seems like a pretty cool little adapter that everyone should have. You can buy it from the link down below. If you’ve ordered one, be sure to let us know in the comments down below how you are liking it.

Deal: Motorola S10-HD Bluetooth Stereo Headphones for $44.99

via AndroidHeadlines.com |

Anyone looking for some nice Bluetooth headphones? Well look no further than the Motorola S10-HD Bluetooth Headphones, which are currently on sale for $44.99 through Amazon. Which are normally $89.99, so that’s a pretty steep discount and one that we are all going to love. These are wireless headphones that just hang around your neck when you don’t want to have them in your ears, they are pretty darn cool actually, and remind me a bit of the ones that LG has, the LG Tone+, which I’ve heard great things about.

You should be able to get around 8-9 hours of battery life out of these, so for most people a solid day. With about 240 hours of standby time. Not to shabby at all. It’s a great purchase for those looking to listen to music while you’re working out, jogging or at work, as you can easily hide them in your collar when your boss walks by – just don’t tell my boss about it.

How many of you are thinking about picking up these Motorola S10-HD Bluetooth Headphones? Be sure to let us know in the comments how you like them.

Verizon Prepaid Set to Get the LG Optimus Exceed 2

via AndroidHeadlines.com |

lg-optimus-exceed

Much like Samsung, LG likes to put out a lot of devices each year. Ranging from low-end to high-end. In fact, at Mobile World Congress last month LG announced about 5 new low-end smartphones, that likely won’t come to the US, but they did announce them. LG has been pretty good with Verizon over the years, providing them with plenty of phones for their low-end tiers and prepaid tiers. Now we’re looking at another offering for Verizon Prepaid that should be heading their way soon.

According to famed leaked @Evleaks, this is a press shot of the LG Optimus Exceed 2. Which is going to be on Verizon Prepaid, and likely only have 3G connectivity. Evident by the 3G icon in the status bar and the 4G LTE logo being absent from the back of the device. We don’t have any clue about the specs on this one, but I’d expect something around a 4-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and possibly 8GB of internal storage. It’ll probably also be around $100-150, since it is coming without a contract – hence the Prepaid option.

Lately, we’ve seen that LG is keeping their physical buttons on their lower-end devices. Which is evident here with the physical home button and capacitive back and menu buttons. It’s also got the Verizon logo on the front, similar to the G2, except this one doesn’t look like it was crammed in there. Hopefully we’ll learn more about the LG Optimus Exceed 2 in the coming weeks. But for now, we know that it’s a low-end smartphone from LG that’s heading to Verizon Prepaid. So we’ll keep our eye out for it.

Does anyone actually use Verizon Prepaid? I haven’t heard many people using it, mostly AT&T and T-Mobile prepaid – again mostly because you can use unlocked devices on those. So if you use Verizon Prepaid, or know someone that does, be sure to let us know in the comments below.

Sony Seeing High Demand for the Xperia Z2, Pushing Back General Release to May

via AndroidHeadlines.com |

Xperia Z2

And to think, we thought Samsung was crazy taking nearly 6 weeks to push the Galaxy S5 into stores where customers could buy it. Sony announced the Xperia Z2 at Mobile World Congress the same day as Samsung announced the Galaxy S5, and now we’re looking at a May release in the UK and Europe for the Xperia Z2. According to Sony it’s due to high-demand for the device, and they are working effortlessly to be sure the stock is up at all their retail channels where the Xperia Z2 is going to be sold at.

“Xperia Z2 will be available in the UK during April and we are expecting to deliver to all consumers who have placed a pre-order through our key partners. We are working tirelessly to maximise stock levels in April but currently we do not expect to meet the high demand across all our sales channels. Please stay tuned for further information and confirmed retail availability.”

So far we have no idea when or if the Xperia Z2 is coming to the US, although there was a rumor that hit our inbox earlier this week that the Xperia Z2 would be a Verizon exclusive and launch around October. Which isn’t surprising, given the nature of both companies. Verizon is always slow to release devices, and Sony always brings their devices into the US very late. However, I am going to hope that it’ll be here before then, but at this point it’s not looking good. Especially with the launch date being pushed back over in the UK and Europe.

How many of our friends across the pond are looking to grab the Sony Xperia Z2 once it’s released? It’s sure looking like a great smartphone, and one that I can’t wait to get my hands on, if it ever comes over to the US. Let us know in the comments below.

ZTE Nubia X6 Revealed – Dual SIM, LTE Support, Snapdragon 801 and Incredible Specs Inside a Sleek Metal Body

via AndroidHeadlines.com |

ZTE-Nubia-X6-630x395

ZTE has recently revealed that they plan to sell 60 million devices globally this year. Apparently to meet that aim, ZTE is now giving attention to a segment of premium devices, which were missing from the Chinese manufacturer’s repertoire last year. As a result, we see ZTE working hard on premium high spec’d devices which comprise the ZTE Nubia series. The latest smartphone in the series – the ZTE Nubia X6 – was officially launched in Beijing. It turns out that the Nubia X6 has carried off better specs than those being suggested in earlier rumors, and may even give the recently launched HTC flagship – the HTC One (M8) a run for its money.

The ZTE Nubia X6 sports a massive 6.44 inch display offering a full-HD 1080p resolution with a resultant 344 pixels per inch (ppi) density. Though 1080p is a sufficiently high-resolution, earlier rumors had suggested a qHD or 2K display. The screen size is massive and similar to the Sony Xperia Z Ultra. The ZTE Nubia X6 comes powered by the latest quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AB processor, clocked at 2.3 GHz; however we have news that a second variant of the device is expected which will boast of a similar processor (MSM8974AC), though it would be clocked at 2.5 GHz. An ample 3 GB of RAM is available for multitasking with internal storage for the base model packed at 32 GB. Another model with 128 GB internal storage is also announced, however there is no information regarding a MicroSD slot.

During the HTC One (M8) launch, the Taiwanese manufacturer had emphasized their focus on delivering a great ‘selfie’ experience. In our view, the ZTE Nubia X6 has the hardware to beat the HTC One (M8) in that department. The Nubia X6 boasts of a 13 mega pixels (MP) primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) on the back, while a 13 MP front-facing camera (without OIS) on the front would definitely rock with any selfie. However we would still need to get our hands on a unit to claim how good or bad the 13 MP front-facing camera performs. The device is powered by a whopping 4250 mAh battery.

The Nubia X6 boasts of dual SIM capabilities, with 3G and LTE capabilities for each SIM. The regular connectivity features – dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and USB 3.0 with OTG support are available. Active noise cancellation is achieved by the three mics on the device, which would also support with distortion free voice recordings in videos. All of these amazing features are packed in a 7.9 mm slim metal body. Pricing of the device, as revealed, is CNY 3,000 ($485) for the32 GB, CNY 3500 ($565) for a 64 GB and CNY 4000 ($645) for the 128 GB variants. Presently there is no clarity as to when, and if, the ZTE Nubia X6 would launch in the Western world. We can only hope and keep our fingers crossed.

Ads for the HTC One M8 Reveal Stealth Red and Stealth Black Colors Coming Soon

via AndroidHeadlines.com |

htc-one-9

As expected, HTC is putting ads everywhere – okay maybe not quite expected, but still nice to see. And the folks over at HTC Source, have found some of their ads in Google Search results, which in the description they list two new colors that are not yet available. Those would be Stealth Red and Stealth Black. Which I personally was hoping for a Stealth Black HTC One M8, as I really liked that color of the HTC One M7 last year since it made the black bezel blend in a bit more and looked amazing.

So it appears that HTC is working on a few more colors of the HTC One M8. Which isn’t surprising since they did the same thing last year, and of course they aren’t the only manufacturer that has done this either. Samsung likes to put out more colors a few months after launch. So now we’re looking at, at least five different colors for the HTC One M8, depending on when these two colors are announced and become available, but hopefully they won’t be exclusive to a single retailer or carrier. Last year, HTC gave Best Buy the exclusive on the blue HTC One M7.

The Stealth Red HTC One M8 should look pretty awesome, as the M7 in red looked awesome as well. So this brings the colors to Stealth Black, Stealth Red, Amber Gold, Gunmetal Gray and Glacial Silver. Not a bad color selection, but maybe they should have put more time into the camera than the different colors. Anyone else agree with me?

The HTC One M8 is available from Verizon and Carphone Warehouse in the US and UK, respectively, right now. With it launching in about 100 other countries in early April. Including the other national carriers like Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T. How many of you are planning on picking it up?

HTC One (M8) Supports Quick Charge 2.0, However the Charger Does Not

via AndroidHeadlines.com |

HTC NEW One 3.1 AH

Another brilliant move from HTC. While the Snapdragon 801 uses Quick Charge 2.0 to charge your HTC One – or any other device with that chip or the Snapdragon 800 – pretty quickly. It appears HTC made an oopsy. As HTC bundled in a 1.5A charger with the HTC One can only charge with Quick Charge 1.0. Which obviously isn’t the best, but it is still faster than not having Quick Charge. It’ll still be faster than charging the HTC One M7 or even the Samsung Galaxy S4 since both launched before Qualcomm announced Quick Charge last year.

According to HTC, they will be releasing a 1.67A charger later this year which does support Quick Charge 2.0. So you’ll want to keep that in mind, if you’re looking to grab the new HTC One from Verizon, or next month when it hits hundreds more carriers. It’s not a huge deal to not have Quick Charge 2.0, but its still a nice thing to have, especially since it’ll charge up lightening quick.

The HTC One M8 features a 2600mAh battery, so it shouldn’t take too long to charge your phone up anyways. The HTC One also has a 5-inch 1080p SuperLCD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of internal storage along with a 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera and a 2-megapixel camera on the back with a 5-megapixel camera on the front. It’s also running Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Sense 6. It’s a great looking, and feeling device. I just wish the camera was a bit better this year. However, I’ll leave out judgement until we post our full review.

How many of you are looking to grab the HTC One M8 when it becomes available on your particular carrier? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
