via AndroidHeadlines.com |

Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_Pro_review (5)-580-90

The Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 12.2 is a pretty awesome tablet. Sure it’s pretty big, but as far as specs and features go, it’s one of the best tablets on the market. Only tablet I think is better is the Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 because of all the S Pen features that come with Galaxy Note devices. So how about some nice cases and even sleeves for your Galaxy TabPRO 12.2? We’ve got ya covered.

Neoprene Tablet Sleeve With Internal Pocket

Who doesn’t want a nice tablet sleeve for their Galaxy TabPRO 12.2? Well here’s a nice one that’s pretty cheap. It’s actually available for just $8.45. It uses neoprene material which protects your tablet from being dropped, as it’s a very soft material.

i-Blason Armorbox Dual Layer Hybrid Full-body Protective Cover with Kickstand

I have a weakness for cases with kickstands. And I blame it on the HTC EVO 4G. I love phones and tablets with kickstands inside them because it makes it much easier to watch movies and such on them. As I can stand them on a table and watch a movie on Netflix and not have to hold it anymore. This particular case won’t be in stock until April 18th, though.

Protective Lightweight Resistant Sleeve

Here’s another nice looking sleeve for the Galaxy TabPRO 12.2. It’s available in plenty of colors as well. Even in pink for those out there that love pink. It is water resistant, and made of neoprene on the outside to protect your tablet. Which is the entire reason why you’re buying it.

Ionic Stand Leather Case

Ionic has a nice looking leather case that also comes with a wall charger, USB cable, car charger and a set of headphones. Now I wouldn’t expect amazing headphones out of this, but it’s still nice to have that coming with this case, especially for $15. It’s available for pre-order now and will be available on April 15th.

Nylon Laptop Bag for Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 12.2

While this is called a laptop bag, it will also work for the Galaxy TabPRO 12.2. It’s available in red, blue and grey, and is a bit more expensive than the other sleeves in this list. But it also has some pockets on the outside which you can store a charger and some other accessories.

WAWO Slim Folio cover

WAWO has a nice looking slim folio cover for the Galaxy TabPRO 12.2 which is available in a ton of colors. They also have a smart fold case, bluetooth keyboard and a 360-degree rotation case. It also features the auto wake/sleep feature which we all love in our cases.

Fintie Slim Shell Case Cover

Fintie has a slim shell case for the Galaxy TabPRO 12.2 as well this one will also fold back into a stand to use your Galaxy TabPRO 12.2. Additionally it features the Auto Sleep/Wake features which we all know so well. It’s available for the Galaxy TabPRO 10.1 and 8.4 in addition to the Galaxy NotePRO 12.2.

Fintie Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 & Tab Pro 12.2 Slim Shell Case Cover – Ultra Slim Lightweight Stand for NotePRO (SM-P900) & TabPRO (SM-T900/T905) 12.2-inch Android Tablet with Auto Sleep/Wake Feature, Black

Logitech Pro Protective Case

This is probably one of the best cases out there. It’s a full sized case for your Galaxy TabPRO 12.2 and Galaxy NotePRO 12.2. It’s a leather case with a built-in Bluetooth Keyboard, which features 30 days of battery life, which is kinda insane. It has a very slim design, which I’m a fan of. It also has a built-in stand which is pretty cool too.

Google Search New Feature Lets You Find Song Titles And Artist Information

via AndroidHeadlines.com |

Nexus-5-Ok-Google-KitKat

Google Search isn’t done with cool and useful features in the latest update that rolled out today. Earlier we let you know about the capability to take photos and record video by simply opening Google Search and using the OK Google voice command. It seems that Google saw fit to add in another feature for Google Search to find out titles of songs. It basically works exactly like their sound search widget, but you can neatly access it from within Google Search instead of having to put out an extra widget to get the functionality.

This might seem like a little bit of redundancy for many people, and maybe it is, but the fact is that it’s more convenient to access now that the function is all wrapped up into one app. Other apps that have been around for quite some time also provide this function like Sound Hound or Shazam, but once again, having the functionality all neatly wrapped up with Google Search makes it simple to not only get the song title you need but also other useful information you might want about a particular song or the artist singing it, since it’s tied into Google Search and its boundless wealth of knowledge. To access this new Google Search function its quite simple. All you have to do is open up Google Search or Google Now, and tap the mic button or access the mic button from the widget, or you can just say OK Google if you have the supported listening mic feature(Moto X and Nexus 5), and then say listen to TV after which Google Search will then proceed to analyze the music playing and give you the results for the song and artist title, as well as other people who have covered that particular song. We would assume that Google Search gives you relevant search results information based off of the song as well.

As with the earlier post we put out about the camera and video recording features, this function is part of the latest Google Search app update that was pushed out today, so if you don’t have these features just yet check your apps list inside the Play Store and see if the app is ready to be updated. Otherwise just wait around patiently for it to hit your status bar.

Augmented Smartwatch Pro Gets Update To Support The Qualcomm TOQ

via AndroidHeadlines.com |

qualcomm toq

Qualcomm’s TOQ smartwatch isn’t the hippest kid on the block when it comes to wearable tech, and part of this was due to the price that they were charging for their product when it was released. Last month they attempted to change that by throwing out the SDK for their smartwatch to app developers, hoping to foster some sort of enthusiasm and popularity for the platform and the device, and basically inviting developers in to create fresh, and engaging apps for the TOQ. It would stand to reason that since the watch isn’t that popular to begin with, they probably weren’t going to receive overwhelming responses to get apps built and up and running. Much to their dismay, there hasn’t been a flood of developers rushing to work with the SDK. Most likely because there is a lack of users for the device to begin with, so there would be less use of those apps.

Despite this probability, an android app that works with seemingly multiple smartwatches has updated their app to allow Qualcomm TOQ support. Besides the TOQ, the app, called Augmented Smartwatch Pro, also works with the Sony Smartwatch 2, the MotoActv, The Pebble, The Metawatch and others. The great thing about this for Qualcomm is they now have an app that could be used quite a bit, support their product. This could at the very least get them a little more exposure. As for the app itself and what it can do, its main focus is alerts. So think about they way you get alerts from Google Now. It won’t work in quite the same way of course, but you know what an alert is so you get the idea.

It also has support for Tasker, which is everyone’s favorite little power user app to automate whatever your heart desire. Within reason of course. With Augmented Smartwatch Pro you can use up to three different Tasker tasks with your smartwatch, giving it another level of usability. One thing to note, is that Augmented already has more functionality with the Qualcomm TOQ than the Moto Actv and the Meta Watch, and it’s only had support since today where as those other two devices have had support for some time.

Google Keyboard Updates To 3.0 With New Personalized Suggestions Feature

via AndroidHeadlines.com |

google-swype-keyboard-630

One thing Google Keyboard has been lacking when compared to other options like Swiftkey is less personalized suggestions based off sources where we often type. Swiftkey does this by reading and scanning what you type via Twitter, Facebook, SMS, and with yesterdays update now with Google+ as well. Today Google has started a rollout of the latest Google Keyboard update that will be allowing more personalized customization in the suggestions area when typing or swiping, by letting the keyboard scan other various Google apps(like Google+) for the types of things you say so it can better serve you up word suggestions that you will want to use. This is assuming you even use the suggestions in the first place. Thus far I have personally kept that feature turned off because the suggestions were often not what I wanted. However now with this change I might have to check it out again.

Some updated features have made their way into this newest Google keyboard release, one that is quite notable and handy is the ability to long press the mic button that you would use to voice type to access the settings menu. No more having to go through arduous processes just to tweak a few things within the Google Keyboards settings. The other tweaked feature that is worth mentioning is the addition of a new button inside the keyboard that pops up when you enter the Emoji menu. A new ABC button will appear when you are inside of the Emoji menu that will allow you to get back to the regular keyboard to continue typing. Before this update such a button with the same function existed, but it showed up as a keyboard icon instead of the letters ABC.

So there you have it, personalized suggestions are now part of the Google Keyboard just like with other Keyboard options. Once the app updates and you open Google Keyboard for the first time, you’ll be met with a message explaining about the changes with the personalized suggestions, and given the option to hit OK and continue on to what you were going to type, or to hit the settings button and seek to go turn the feature off. If you just hit OK, the personalized suggestions stays on automatically. The update should already be live but if you haven’t received it yet you should soon.

Voice Search Updated With New Ok Google Commands For Taking Photos And Recording Video

via AndroidHeadlines.com |

How many times can you say that you have missed taking a photo of that perfect shot just because you spent too much time messing with your device and trying to open up the camera app? There are many ways to help speed up this process via apps and shortcuts, and even since Google implemented the Lock screen widgets within Jelly Bean there was a way to swipe left from the lock screen to get right to the camera. Now Google is giving us one more way to access the camera easier than normal so we don’t miss another chance at that all too perfect photo. With Google Voice search.

This is certainly more useful than Google’s latest easter egg that was embedded into the voice search actions for the Konami code, as you can now use voice search to open up the camera and take a snapshot or even record video. You never have to miss those important moments with this new feature as all you have to do is tap the voice search mic button and say the hot word commands. For those of you that are using touchless controls, you wont even have to unlock your device, just point, speak, and shoot, at least it sounds like it would be that easy. This is all part of the new update that is going out for Google Search on Android devices, so if you’re eager to get a hold of this feature for yourself make sure to look for the update to the app as soon as possible.

For those that have never used the hot word commands before, all you have to do is say Ok Google, and then tell Google Voice Search whether you want to Take A Picture, or Record A Video. Once you do that your photo will snap or your video will begin recording and you won’t have to worry about trying to get to the app and opening it up. For people without any sort of touchless control like feature, this becomes most useful if you’re phone is already open and you can get to the Google Voice search more easily and quicker than anything else. There are various ways to access Voice Search, and while it might be near as or just as easy to set up a gesture control through something Nova launcher, this is certainly a nice benefit.

64-Bit Smartphones Hindered By Outside Issues

via AndroidHeadlines.com |

64-bit-arm-samsung

To this date there are still no Android smartphones with 64-bit processors inside. There are undoubtedly plenty of reasons why we haven’t seen any devices with this type of processor show up on the market yet, but one we can’t ignore is the fact that smartphones today don’t really have a need to utilize the capacity of the 64-bit architecture. The iPhone 5S is the only current smartphone that sports a processor of this particular makeup, which is how we know that smartphones don’t use up the capacity for which 64-bi chips are capable, because even the iPhone 5S doesn’t take advantage of its full potential. Having a 64-bit processor sounds cool, and while it would seem to advance us forward in the world of mobile computing, there just isn’t a need yet. Still, it’s never a bad thing to be prepared, which is why many OEMs have already started development on such processors, so they can be used within devices when the time is right.

Sources at etnews are reporting that the Android OS doesn’t quite support the 64-bit architecture which is more or less a true statement, and while that is one reason that we may not be seeing 64-bit chips enter into the mobile space so far, Google is working to optimize the OS for use with 64-bit processors. A more impacting reason for why we haven’t seen some Android smartphones come out with 64-bit chips is something called the D-RAM market. With production costs rising for D-RAM memory, other complications could surface like OEMs having to change their production lines and end up delaying the whole process. This would ultimately result in less profit, and thus OEMs are holding off.

With these kinds of issues holding manufacturers back from entering into this particular market, rumors are suggesting that the first Android powered smartphones that house 64-bit chips will arrive sometime later this year, more closely around Q4 of 2014, or even Q1 of 2015. If that’s the case, it seems that we will still have a long ways to go before we see any 64-bit smartphones, but this would give Google some time to make the perfect optimizations to the Android for 64-bit support, and manufacturers that are producing these 64-bit chips will have more time to optimize their processors. In the long run, it seems like Android could benefit from the wait, but do you think that being late to the 64-bit party will hurt them more than not?

Enter The Konami Code Into Google Voice Search For A new Fun Easter Egg

via AndroidHeadlines.com |

the_code_by_decibel_design-d4c34gt

We all love Google’s quirky easter eggs. They hide them sometimes in the most unlikely of places, and sometimes the results of what we find bring us unlimited amounts of joy and a goofy smile for the rest of the day, or perhaps just a few minutes. Since the inception of Google Now, Google has inserted a number voice activated easter eggs into the voice search function of the feature, and they have been adding them gradually over time to allow more tiny bits of enjoyment if you need a little one minute escape from the dregs of your mundane daily tasks. Some of the greatest ones include the barrel roll easter egg, and other fun ones like the Dr. Who easter egg which we suppose only appeals to those of the community that are fans of Dr. Who. There are tons more that are plenty of fun as well though.

A new easter egg that has popped up for use with the Google Voice Search is arguably the best one, this is of course coming from a gamer who might find it a bit more exciting and fun than others out there who are unfamiliar with the history behind it. The new easter egg for voice search lets you enter the Konami Code, which in turn gives you the response of Cheat Mode Unlocked, Unlimited Free Google Searches. Google themselves seem to have a soft spot for the konami Code easter egg, as they previously inserted it into the Google Play Games app, where if you entered the code as a series of swipes within the app, you were presented with the A,B,Start buttons to finish the code, and then rewarded with an achievement of All Your Game Are Belong To Us.

As you know, Google Search is already free to use, and there is no limit to how many Google searches one could complete, so the easter egg actually doesn’t unlock anything extra within Google Search, except for smiles and awesomeness. Now that you know about this awesome little easter egg treat, pull it up when you have a quick moment and impress your friends who haven’t heard about it yet.
