Crossy Road Castle Coming Soon to Apple Arcade

Hipster Whale, the developers behind the popular game Crossy Road, are expanding the franchise and introducing a new title, Crossy Road Castle, which is coming to Apple Arcade later this year.

The news was announced today via a trailer for the upcoming game, which features Crossy Road-style gameplay in a platform-like castle setting.


Crossy Road first came out in 2014 and soared to popularity thanks to its simple tap-based object avoidance gameplay and wealth of unlockable characters.

Crossy Road is available on multiple platforms, but given the mobile exclusivity restrictions for  Apple Arcade , Crossy Road Castle will be available solely on the iPhone and won't come to Android.

 Apple Arcade  games are available on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac, but not all games are available on all platforms. Crossy Road Castle, though, will be available on all devices that support  Apple Arcade , according to GameSpot. Crossy Road Castle will include no in-app purchases or additional unlocks, and will be available as part of the $4.99 per month  Apple Arcade  subscription price.

Up to four players can play Crossy Road Castle collaboratively via a local connection, so friends and family members can play with one another.

There's no specific launch date for Crossy Road Castle, with Hipster Whale saying it's "coming soon."

Is Your macOS Catalina Install Stuck? Here's How to Fix It

Apple on Monday released macOS Catalina to the public, allowing everyone to install the newest version of the operating system for the Mac.

Based on reports on the MacRumors forums, Twitter, and other social networks, some people are running into a specific problem - an installation that hangs.

After downloading  macOS Catalina  and installing from the Mac App Store, some people have seen the installation process stop right at the "Setting Up Your Mac..." screen, and even after waiting for hours, it doesn't resolve.

Luckily, there appears to be a super simple fix for this issue: Just restart. Hold down the power button on your Mac until it turns off, and then power it back on.

Based on reports from MacRumors readers, this fix will send you to the login screen or do your desktop.

After the Mac gets to the "Setting Up Your Mac..." screen, the  macOS Catalina  installation is largely complete. We don't recommend restarting right away, but if sits at that screen for a half hour or more, shut it down because it's not going to resolve on its own.

The  macOS Catalina  installation takes some time so don't restart ahead of when the setup screen pops up, but based on a multitude of reports, resetting in this way if it gets stuck appears to be a safe way of getting your Mac up and running again.

Logitech Crayon in Gray, Ember Mug 2, and More Added to Apple's Online Store

Apple has added a new selection of accessories to its online store this week.

For starters, the Logitech Crayon is now available in a new gray finish, complementing the existing silver option with red accents.


Priced at $69.95, the Logitech Crayon is a lower-cost alternative to the Apple Pencil. The drawing tool features a slim aluminum body and an Apple Pencil-like tip, with the same latency, tilt, and palm rejection that you get with the Apple Pencil. Unlike the Pencil, however, it lacks pressure sensitivity.

The Logitech Crayon is compatible with the sixth- and seventh-generation iPad, as well as the latest iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad mini models.

Also new to Apple's online store is the Ember Mug 2, which is slightly thicker than the original version of the temperature-controlled mug, allowing it to maintain the chosen temperature of a drink for approximately 80 minutes, up from one hour. We've reached out to Ember to see if there are any other changes.


The companion Ember app for iPhone or Apple Watch allows you to set your precise drinking temperature for hot beverages, track caffeine consumption, save presets for your favorite drinks, customize the LED color, and more.

The new Ember mug is $99.95 for the 10-ounce size, up from $79.95, while the 14-ounce mug remains $129.95.

Next up is the Lumos Matrix smart bike helmet with an urban design and integrated front and rear LED lights to alert drivers to your presence when cycling in the dark. The helmet also has turn signals and automatic warning lights on the back to alert people behind you that you are slowing down.


The Lumos Matrix helmet is $249.95 in white or black. The helmet can be controlled with the included remote or the Lumos app for iPhone or Apple Watch.

As we reported earlier, the Xbox Wireless Controller is also now listed on Apple.com, although it is currently unavailable to purchase. As of iOS 13 and tvOS 13, the Xbox Wireless Controller and PlayStation DualShock 4 can be paired with an iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV and used to play games on those devices.

Other accessories added to Apple.com this week include the MeeBot 2.0 programmable robot for kids, an iPhone-connected kettlebell with six weight options, the Native Union Drop XL wireless charging pad, an iPhone-mounted LED light for improved photos and videos, and more.
