On Saturday, Motorola announced that they added about 9 new colors to Motomaker. Which brings the total to about 27 different colors. This includes colors like yellow, red, gray and various variations of those colors. All of these colors – shown above – are now available on MotoMaker for those interested in picking one of them up with new colors. This means that the customization of your Moto X is virtually endless. With over 50,000 variations available for you to choose from. It’s great that you are also able to match your Moto X to your favorite team to celebrate March Madness, especially with the Selection Show tomorrow night on CBS. Who do you got in the NCAA Tourney?
Back to business. The Moto X is still a great phone even if it is getting up there in age. It comes with a 4.7-inch AMOLED 720p display, Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage with no microSD card slot. There’s also Android 4.4.2 on-board with virtually no skin. Additionally, you’ve got a 2200mAh battery inside which should last you quite a while with the Moto X, if they ever get the KitKat bugs worked out on the Android 4.4.x updates to the device.
Now if you’re looking to customize your Moto X, you won’t be able to do it via your carrier. You’ll need to hop onto the Moto Maker site and buy it through Motorola. Which you can sign a new contract through Motorola or get the Moto X contract-free. Or, even better, you can get it with a student discount, if you have a .edu email address. Which is also pretty awesome. I’m really liking the new “Smoke” color for a Moto X. I really wish that these had been available at launch though. But hopefully we’ll see more for the new Moto X when it hits this summer.
